Springbok construction project - rourke

Sunday, 18 February 2018

A need for a shade port and builtin Braai were Rourke’s Springbok Construction project ideas.

Never enough shade or shelter from the rain during our annual AGM or camps was an issue, and one that would be addressed.

Costing was done, approval obtained and it was a go. Over a period of three weekends, the initial planting of the poles in concrete and subsequent weekends of welding (which Rourke had never done before), and finally brick laying; the project was completed. Definitely a great addition to the Scout hall, and one that will see much use in the coming years.

Thanks to all the Scouts who assisted Rourke with the building; Kate, Robert, Kyle, Jenna, Alessio, Enzo, Angelo and many others. Special thanks to the Sandringham Committee for sponsoring the money for the building and to all the Scouters and adults who mentored and advised on the build.

Nou gaan ons braai!!!!!.
